My setting of Robert Bridges' poem My Eyes for Beauty Pine was composed specifically for The Annex Singers' 2021 concert, What Will Remain. I was drawn to the quiet sense of devotion that Bridges captures in his poem and sought to present it in a simple harmonic language.

My eyes for beauty pine,
My souls for Goddes grace;
No other care nor hope is mine;
To heaven I turn my face.
